18th and Spring Inc. provides scholarships, school supplies, and learning resources to underserved children across Atlanta and beyond โ because education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty.
In the United States, more than 11 million children live in households that fall below the federal poverty line. In Atlanta's most underserved neighborhoods, the high school graduation rate hovers near 68% โ well below the national average of 85%. Without access to books, tutoring, and stable learning environments, countless children are denied the foundation they need to succeed.
18th and Spring Inc. was founded on a simple but urgent belief: every child, regardless of zip code or family income, deserves a quality education. We bridge the gap between need and opportunity by providing direct financial scholarships, school supplies, mentorship, and enrichment experiences to children in Atlanta and surrounding communities.
We operate three flagship programs designed to address educational inequity at every level โ from early childhood through college access.
We award need-based scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 per academic year to qualifying Kโ12 and college-bound students. Recipients are selected based on academic progress, financial need, and community involvement.
Apply or Sponsor โEach semester, we distribute backpacks, textbooks, notebooks, and digital tools to children who cannot afford them. Our annual Back-to-School Drive alone serves over 400 students in a single weekend.
See Events โWe organize educational field trips, museum visits, STEM workshops, and college campus tours โ experiences that expand children's sense of what is possible and connect learning to the real world.
